Video Transcript: Welcome to Your First Visit at Seay Wellness
Introduction
Hello and welcome to your first visit at Seay Wellness. I'm Dr. Seay, and I'm excited to partner with you on your healthcare journey.
At Seay Wellness, I take a new approach to healthcare—I address the cause of your pain, not just the symptoms. Education is a big part of your success, so this brief video will help you understand what to expect during your visits and how insurance works with our comprehensive care approach.
Our Unique Approach
Seay Wellness is not your typical chiropractic office. I focus on performance and longevity through our unique M4 Program: Manipulation, Movement, Medicinal Nutrition, and Metabolic Connection. I don't just treat the symptoms—I address the root cause of your health concerns to help you build lasting vitality.
What to Expect from Your First Visit
Let's discuss what to expect from your visit today. We'll start with a comprehensive examination.
Comprehensive Chiropractic Assessment
I will perform a chiropractic assessment which consists of:
-
Orthopedic testing
-
Neurologic testing
-
Outcome assessments
-
Range of motion evaluation
-
Palpation
-
Postural evaluation

Advanced Movement Screening
I will also incorporate the Advanced Fitness Integration Technique (F.I.T.®) exam and the MoveWell3 screen. This comprehensive evaluation goes beyond typical chiropractic exams. I'll assess your brain-body connection, movement patterns, grip strength, balance, flexibility, and functional capacity.
This detailed analysis helps me understand exactly what your body needs to perform at its best. Please bring athletic clothes to change into, or wear them to your appointment, so you can move freely during your exam.
Important: This examination will be the only thing performed during your first visit. Your follow-up visits will consist of chiropractic adjustments combined with your personalized treatment plan. Every treatment is based on objective findings from your examination and designed to produce measurable outcomes.
Understanding Your Insurance Coverage
Private Insurance Coverage
Most private insurance plans cover chiropractic care as long as it's medically necessary. Typically covered services include:
-
Chiropractic manipulation and adjustments
-
Rehabilitation exercises and therapy
-
Electrical muscle stimulation (EMS)
-
Therapeutic ultrasound
-
Comprehensive examinations and re-examinations
These services are covered when they're medically necessary and part of an active treatment plan.
Medicare Coverage

Medicare has very specific limitations. Medicare will only cover chiropractic adjustments—that's it. Everything else we do, including your initial examination, rehabilitation exercises, electrical muscle stimulation, therapeutic modalities, and all other advanced therapies are considered by Medicare as not medically necessary and must be paid out of pocket. I'll discuss affordable cash payment options for Medicare patients during your visit.
Services Not Typically Covered by Insurance
Most private insurance plans do not cover certain advanced therapies, including:
-
Active Release Technique (trigger point therapy)
-
Low-level laser therapy
-
Spinal decompression therapy
-
Detox foot baths
-
Infrared sauna sessions
-
NormaTec compression therapy
-
Functional medicine services and laboratory testing
Don't worry—I'll always discuss these options with you before any treatment and explain our affordable cash payment options.
Insurance Requirements for Private Plans
For private insurance plans, there are three important requirements:
-
Medically Necessary Care Only - Treatment must address a specific condition
-
Measurable Improvement - We must demonstrate progress through objective testing and outcome assessments
-
Active Treatment Plan - You must follow a structured treatment plan schedule. Insurance doesn't cover "come when you want" or random visits.

Supportive and Maintenance Care
Unfortunately, insurance does not cover supportive or maintenance care. Supportive care means ongoing treatment to maintain your current health status rather than actively improving a specific condition. Once you've reached maximum improvement, insurance considers additional care as maintenance, which is not covered.
Our Commitment to Transparency
I believe in complete transparency and always want to inform you before we provide any non-covered services. We offer significant cash discounts for:
-
Cash-paying patients
-
Medicare patients
-
Any non-covered insurance procedures or services
-
Package deals for comprehensive care
Our goal is to make optimal health achievable and affordable for everyone, regardless of your insurance type.
